January 11, 2010 4:06 pm
As much as I dislike with a passion to be part of the crew that peddle stories that are yet to be certify as True or False, there was no way of avoiding this story. I got an email from my bro, Bayo Olomodosi with a link to a story that held no qualms. He wisely produced a disclaimer FYI me no knw shao&.. . I dont blame him shao. It was the news site, American Chronicle that provided the supposed scoop. In the manner in which it was reported, nothing suggests foul play or rumour peddling. It came across as very credible. Judge for yourself as published below:

President Umaru Yar´Adua is Dead

January 11, 2010
Nigerian President, His Excellency Umaru Yaradua is dead according to authoritative sources at the King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre.
He died on the 10th of December at 3.30pm at an Intensive Care Unit at the King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center in Jeddah Saudi-Arabia. Sources at the Hospital say that the First lady wants to keep the news secret for the next few days for personal reasons. At the time of his death he was surrounded by his wife, Turai and a childhood friend, Nigerian Member of Parliament, The president left Nigeria fifty days ago after complaining of Chest pains. Sources at the King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center in Jeddah say that the president suffered among many other things, kidney failure, stroke and massive brain damage.
The President has been bedridden ever since. Nigerian officials had previously lied to the country that the presidents health was getting better while his situation got worse. The president was conspicuously silent regarding the Christmas day bombing in which a 23-year-old Nigerian, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab tried to detonate a bomb on an aircraft that carried nearly 300 people. However, the story which appeared on the American Chronicle new site, in the articles category, sub section view, no 136017, no longer does.
At first peruse, it came up, however, after about 30 minutes of rechecking the story, it was nowhere to be found.
I did a search within the American Chronicle site (http://www.americanchronicle.com/search?q=yardua) and it came up with the result Could not found that item I can swear to you that it was not a fabrication of my eyesight I saw it this morning. Could it be my laptop? Until someone else checked and confirmed that the article could not be located. Its vanished. So what is happening here? I know I reported sometime last week that my strong feelings were that either the man (the President) is either on a life support or he is dead. Suddenly the internet is abuzz with this impending news, not that I wish anyone dead. Death, like pregnancy cannot be hidden for long. The news would eventually be confirmed. I will not get into the political scenarios that are unfolding on a daily basis, but to say that what would happen next would shock the nation as it did when Presidential aspirant Chief MKO Abiola and former Nigeria dictator Abacha both died in the same year. You watch and see. This is how the American Chronicle describes its site; The American Chronicle, California Chronicle, Los Angeles Chronicle, World Sentinel, and affiliates are online magazines for national, international, state, and local news. We also provide opinion and feature articles. We have over 5,000 contributors, over 100,000 articles, and over 11 million visitors annually. So, my point? No one knows for sure if he is Alive or Dead. As for me, I just want a living President that can take the country out of this coma, after all, our tagline as a nation isnt Sick Nation, Sick People. Or is it? &Developing&.. By the way guys, I am back in Nigeria THE OVEN, having just arrived from England THE DEEP FREEZER. Am I glad or what? Will give you a roundup of my views of England later on. Thanks guys for stopping by and please do let me have your views. Hey, my Facebook friends, if you dont mind, be kind to duplicate your views on JSD as well, not everyone has an FB account. God bless you guys.
